Why Inclusive Football?
Inclusive football is essential because it reflects the values of equality, diversity, and unity that sport stands for. Traditional football often excludes children with physical, neurodiverse, or other challenges, reinforcing social divides. Inclusive football addresses this by creating a level playing field where all abilities can participate together, fostering understanding and mutual respect. It not only teaches teamwork and resilience but also builds bridges between communities, showing that everyone has a place in the game. By making football inclusive, we ensure its transformative power benefits all, breaking down barriers and inspiring a more connected, equitable society.

Who is it for?
Inclusive Football is for everyone - with and without disabilities! Equal Play focuses on the younger ages of 6 -12 . As this is established in neighbourhood clubs, all children and their friends and families can benefit from being part of the initiatives and get involved.

How does it work?
Inclusive football works by adapting the game to ensure children of all abilities can participate together. This includes modifying rules, providing training for coaches to foster an inclusive environment, and using equipment or formats that accommodate diverse needs. The focus is on teamwork, enjoyment, and personal growth, rather than just competition, creating a supportive space where every child can thrive and contribute.

Inclusive Football with RVC Celeritas

Thanks to collaboration with RVC Celeritas we have already set up the first inclusive football team. Our weekly football training sessions are more than just sports – they are places where kids get to know each other and have fun together. Here, every child feels the pride of scoring a goal or learning something new.

The Inclusive Football Program has just been established:

• Concept phase: Free football lessons starts as of 19 February 2025 in Rijswijk. We expect at least 24 children with and without disabilities to enrol. The sessions will be small groups of 6 children with experienced coaches.
