About Equal Play

Every child deserves joy, friendship and a place on the pitch.

Equal Play makes sport accessible for children aged 6 to 12, with and without a disability. Together, inside existing sports clubs in their own neighbourhood.

Our approach

What makes Equal Play different?

Together, inside existing clubs.

At Equal Play, children with and without a disability play in one team at a regular club around the corner. They train together, get to know one another and belong as a matter of course.

On the pitch we add extra coaching, so every child takes part at their own pace. With joy, confidence and room to grow.

By building inside existing clubs, these children are genuinely part of the club. Week in, week out, as ordinary club members.

Our mission

Inclusive sport, for every child nearby.

Equal Play creates inclusive sport opportunities for children aged 6 to 12. Together with clubs and partners, we build teams where every child feels safe, seen and welcome.

“That is how we make sport durably inclusive, today and for the future.”

Our vision

A future where every child plays sport together.

We are building a future in which all children, whatever their ability or neurodiversity, play and grow together in inclusive sport. A future where every child's unique strengths are celebrated.

Our people

The team that sees every child.

Our mission is carried by dedicated coaches, support staff and volunteers who notice every child.

Training takes place at local clubs and is led by the club's own coaches, who provide the familiar sporting environment. Equal Play adds extra support staff who help keep the atmosphere safe, positive and inclusive.

At camps and celebrations too, committed helpers are on hand. With parents and clubs, we make sure every child takes part, in their own way, with joy and confidence.

Inspiration

“My journey to real inclusion began at home, as a mother.”

Carolina Mori embraces two children, smiling in a warm, joyful moment.

“My journey to real inclusion began as the mother of two wonderful boys, each with their own needs. I quickly saw how hard it is to create environments where all children, especially those with a disability, are truly welcome and supported.

While one of my sons joined ordinary sports activities effortlessly, the other met one barrier after another. That inspired me to start Equal Play. A sports initiative where children of every ability can flourish together.”
